Southland Tales Limited DVDRip
California is at the epicenter of a political and environmental
disaster that threatens to destroy the world in this ambitious fusion
of comedy, drama, dystopian science fiction, and music from writer and
director Richard Kelly, his first film after gaining a cult following
with Donnie Darko. In the year 2005, a nuclear attack wipes out part of
the state of Texas, and three years later America is a virtual police
state, with the government taking control of nearly every part of
people's lives, supposedly for their own good. A German firm has found
a way to generate energy using seawater, but both public and private
concerns are desperate to prevent the new technology from being
introduced in the gasoline-starved United States. A Marxist underground
based on the West Coast is determined to bring down the federal
government through violent revolution. In this midst of this chaos, we
follow a number of stories that continually return to three principle
characters. Boxer Santaros (Dwayne Johnson, aka The Rock) is an actor
famous for his role in action films; he's trying to secure financing
for a new project, but reality keeps mirroring the events in his script
and he struggles to hold on to his identity following a bout with
amnesia. Krysta Now (Sarah Michelle Gellar) is a porn star who is
reinventing herself as a television pundit offering her views on
politics, contemporary culture, and teenage sex. And Roland Taverner
(Seann William Scott) is an L.A. police officer whose identity has
mysteriously split in two and he struggles to track down his other
half. Featuring a massive supporting cast which includes Mandy Moore,
Miranda Richardson, Wallace Shawn, Jon Lovitz, Kevin Smith, Amy
Poehler, and Justin Timberlake, Southland Tales received its world
premiere at the 2006 Cannes Film Festival; director Kelly also created
an accompanying series of three graphic novels which chart these events
and characters prior to this story.

Pixar Short Films - Jack Jack Attack
One
of my favorite Shorts I first saw in theaters was Boundin’. This 2004
Short looked good then, but in no way did that large-scale presentation
even begin to approach the clarity, sharpness or impact of how
beautiful it looks on Blu-ray Disc. There are no flaws to be found,
anywhere, from up close or afar. The same can be said for all of
Pixar’s Shorts on this disc. Brad Bird spoke the truth when he said
Blu-ray Disc allowed Pixar animation to be viewed as it should be for
the first time outside of Pixar’s studio. These Shorts represent
reference quality video.

Beowulf 2007 XViD
Spectacular
animated action scenes turn the ancient epic poem Beowulf into a modern
fantasy movie, while motion-capture technology transforms plump actor
Ray Winstone (Sexy Beast) into a burly Nordic warrior. When a Danish
kingdom is threatened by the monster Grendel (voiced and physicalized
by Crispin Glover, River's Edge), Beowulf--lured by the promise of
heroic glory--comes to rescue them. He succeeds, but falls prey to the
seductive power of Grendel's mother, played by Angelina Jolie... and as
Jolie's pneumatically animated form rises from an underground lagoon
with demon-claw high heels, it becomes clear that we're leaving the
original epic far, far behind. Regrettably, the motion-capture process
has made only modest improvements since The Polar Express; while the
characters' eyes no longer look so flat and zombie-like, their faces
remain inexpressive and movements are still wooden. As a result, the
most effective sequences feature wildly animated battles and the most
vivid character is Grendel, whose grotesqueness ends up making him far
more sympathetic than any of the mannequin-like human beings. The
meant-to-be-titillating images of a naked Jolie resemble an inflatable
doll more than a living, breathing woman (or succubus, as the case may
be). But the fights--particularly Grendel's initial assault on the
celebration hut--pop with lushly animated gore and violence. Also
featuring the CGI-muffled talents of Anthony Hopkins (Silence of the
Lambs), Robin Wright Penn (The Princess Bride), and John Malkovich
(Dangerous Liaisons)
